First 70.3~

My finger is lingering over the submit key yet again.
I did this for my Oly Distance last fall- and I find myself sitting here a year later in the same position.

There are so many What Ifs, Buts, and I Don't Know's.

I have lived by the saying...."I don't want to look back and have regrets in NOT DOING something".
But I also live by the motto...."Life is too short to do things that worry me."
I am my own worst contradiction.

I WANT to put a 70.3 under my triathlon belt.
I just don't like the nerves, worry, and wondering which will plague me for the 30 weeks until Race Day.

Any one else out there want to sign up with me?
That would be one concern off my WORRY LIST.
I always seem to sign up for these adventures alone.

For now my finger remains hovering above SUBMIT here:

DESERT HALF IRONMAN

What I wouldn't give for a brain that DIDN'T analyze everything I want to do. *sigh*

Do it. The swim is only 0.3 miles further than an Oly, you can already run and bike the distance, all you have to do is put it all together :-). When you are done training, an Oly will feel like a nice workout.

I'd love to do the race but it's 2000 miles from here. Maybe you can talk Barb into doing it http://kelownagurl.blogspot.com/. She's up in your neck of the woods.

You can do it and no thank you I can't. I think if you think you need to do it just do it what have you really have to lose. If nothing else you cannot say you did not try and regret it later. B

I hate to say this, because it sounds so trite, but if I can do it, YOU can surely do it! Keep your goals for your first 70.3 reasonable, make it to the start line healthy and Finish! Don't over think the race, but do think about how awesome you'll feel when you're done. Plus, from the moment we *think* about doing a particular distance, it means we want to. The hesitation is fear. Don't let fear win! :) DonnaT (From DailyMile

You should do it! (Only switch to the Boulder 70.3 so I have company!)
